I’ve been baking bread for years and years. One of the few bad things about homemade bread is that it does get stale quickly if you don’t freeze it. I try to not waste food so I make croutons with any bread that is leftover…even store-bought.
Unless you burn them, you can’t go wrong! Watch the video or just follow these directions:
5 cups cubed leftover bread
1/2 stick butter
1/4 c olive oil, if desired
spices & seasonings of your choice
Preheat oven to 325-375 degrees.
Melt butter and add olive oil and seasonings.
Pour over cubed bread and toss together.
Place in a pan in a single layer.
Stir every 8 minutes until brown.
Be sure not to burn them : D. Watch them closely.
