A Simple Life

I want to live a simple life and my life goals, since I can remember as far back as fifth grade, have been to have a garden plot, a little house with some land, some chickens and a place to make art. Over the years I have lived in a few places that partially met those requirements but now I am in the most wonderful, perfect spot to do ALL those things. My husband and I have nearly four acres, a spring, fruit trees that need TLC, grape vines from France a former owner planted, a huge overgr.....

Living Green in a Georgia Pine Forest

All my life I’ve tried to live close to the land. I must have been twelve years old when I decided I wanted to live in a treehouse in the forest and weave on a weaving loom. Today I am reclaiming an old house that my mother built in her hometown when I was a teenager. It was neglected, eaten by bees and birds, inhabited by spiders and SNAKES (oh, my), and left to be overgrown in ivy vines. Since we moved in nearly two years ago, we have knocked down walls, refinished one.....
